This week we are excited to introduce the Bauwerk Colour Chronicles, where we focus on the colour palettes of some of our favourite feature stories within the pages of Est Magazine. To celebrate the recent release of Issue 12 we kick off the series with the atelier of Portland based artist Heather Chontos.
We have created colour palettes for three of the spaces in her studio, ‘Milk Farm Road’, awash with natural light and of course, Heather’s paintings. Small, intimate works are positioned beside fearless, oversized canvases on walls washed in a mix of fresh whites or deep-sea tertiary hues. And it would seem that Heather’s artistic passion for colour is somewhat brutal. ‘I usually get fixated on a colour and then I’ll go with that until I’ve beaten it to death!’, she explains.
